Sidama Coffee came from behind to beat Wolayta Dicha 2-1 in Sunday's Ethiopian Cup final played at Addis Ababa Stadium. The Ethiopian Football Federation ordered the match played behind closed doors due to security issues, prompting both clubs' fans to label the decision unfair.

The Bees of Tona took an early lead in the 12th minute through a superb strike from Carlos Damtew. But Habtamu Tadesse restored parity eight minutes later when he scored from inside the box as the teams settled for a draw at halftime.

After the break, Mesfin Tafese scored following dreadful corner kick defending by Wolayta Dicha to make it 2-1. The Sodo-based outfit did score a goal in the second half, but it was ruled out, to the dismay of their fans.

Sidama Coffee were crowned champions for the first time in their history. Coach Adise Kassa made history by leading the Coffee Traders to a major title for the first time. Their win sparked a huge celebration in Hawassa city. Hawassa now serves as a base for the club.
