Sierra Leone coach Kallon names squad for crucial World Cup qualifying games

Sierra Leone head coach Mohamed Kallon has announced a 26-man squad for upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixtures against Guinea-Bissau and Ethiopia in Group A.

The Leone Stars travel to face Guinea-Bissau in Bissau on 4th September before hosting Ethiopia in Liberia on 9th September.

The squad is made up of foreign and home-based players headlined by elite defensive prospect Juma Bah. Momoh Kamara, the captain and standout performer for Sierra Leone during their inspired run to the quarterfinals of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations a few months ago, is also in contention to play a role for the senior team in September.

Leone Stars will regroup this week in Freetown before jetting out for their crucial Group A encounters.

Sierra Leone currently sit third in Group A on 8 points – three behind second place Burkina Faso and 8 adrift leaders Egypt. Ethiopia and Guinea-Bissau share six points apiece seated in 4th and 5th with Djibouti bottom of the table with no point.
