Sierra Leone U20 national team head coach Mohamed Lamin Kamara credited the high level of concentration for their big 4-1 win over 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations hosts Egypt. The Shooting Stars are making their debut at the U-20 AFCON and are now top of Group A with four points.
Kamara said he expected the Young Pharaohs to start the game strongly. “Egypt entered the match with high morale after the win against South Africa, and we had a plan to deal with their players. We respected the opponent, and there was strong focus before the match. I did not expect to win by this margin.”
Kamara noted the plan is to qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup. “We have confidence in our team. The competition in the group has now become tough, and our goal is to qualify for the World Cup.”
Sierra Leone’s next opponent in Group A will be Tanzania on Saturday, May 3rd.
