Simba overcame an early deficit to claim their fourth league win in nine days on Sunday with a 2-1 result at Kinondoni MC in Tanzania's NBC Premier League.
Ugandan poacher Steven Mukwala scored both goals for Simba with his tidy strike early in the second half (video above) serving as the match winner. With the exception of their last match against Pamba Jiji, Simba have not had it easy during this busy stretch and the hosts took the lead inside ten minutes through a stunning strike by Rachid Chambo.
But the response was swift from Simba who enjoyed a strong performance from former Asante Kotoko striker Mukwala. Quick combination passing outside the KMC penalty area led to a chaotic scene and the Ugandan pounced for a low shot that went just beyond the foot of Comorian goalkeeper Ali Ahamada.
Mukwala added the decisive goal soon after the second half kicked off and Simba have now endured a difficult stretch to remain only a point behind rivals and league leaders Young Africans with four matches remaining for both teams.
Simba will now turn their attention to the massive CAF Confederation Cup final against RS Berkane with the first leg set to be hosted by the Moroccan club on May 17. The second leg will take place back in Dar es Salaam on May 25.
