Simba duo Jonathan Sowah, Alhasane Kante suspended for five matches

Tanzanian giants Simba have been handed a major blow following the suspension of two key players Jonathan Sowah and Alhasane Kante.

Alhasane Kante and Jonathan Sowah were banned for 5 matches and fined Sh1 million each for their actions in the Premier League match against Azam FC on December 7, 2025, at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

According to the League Management and Operations Committee, Sowah was suspended“…for the crime of elbowing Azam FC midfielder, Himid Mao while midfielder Allasane Kante received the same punishment “…for the crime of deliberately kicking Azam FC midfielder, Feisal Salum.”

Referee Abdallah Mwinyimkuu “…..has been removed from the list of referees for five rounds..for failing to take action against the players” (Sowah and Kante).

In a separate case, Singida Black Stars midfielder Khalid Aucho was banned for five matches and fined one million shillings “…for hitting and pushing TRA United player Adam Adam”, in a match TRA United won 3-1.

The duo have already missed 3 Simba matches against Mashujaa FC, Mtibwa Sugar and KMC.

Sowah, 27, joined Simba from Singida Black Stars after previously playing for Medeama of Ghana and Al Nasr of Libya while Senegal midfielder Kante, 25, signed from Tunisia’s CA Bizertin in 2025.
