Tanzanian football powerhouse Simba SC have inked a three-year sponsorship deal worth 20bn/- with international gaming company Betway officially becoming the club’s main sponsor.

During the ceremony held in Dar es Salaam, Simba’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Zubeda Sakuru hailed the partnership as a transformative milestone for both the club and Tanzanian football at large.

“This partnership will revolutionise football in Tanzania and reinforce Simba’s ambition to become Africa’s number one club,” said Sakuru as quoted by Daily News. The 20bn/- investment over three years underscores our unwavering commitment to excellence on the continent.”

Simba Board member Salim Abdallah said: “Football is an expensive sport and funding is key. We call on our passionate supporters to stand behind Betway, our official sponsor, as we aim higher.”

The latest agreement follows Simba’s recent split with former main sponsor M-Bet, which had signed a five-year deal valued at 26.1 bn/- in 2023.
