Tanzania Mainland Premier League outfit Simba SC have officially confirmed the departure of Angolan midfielder Deborah Fernandes ahead of the new season.

The Msimbazi Reds made an official announcement confirming that Fernandes will not be part of the squad for the upcoming 2025/2026 season, following a mutual agreement to part ways.

“Simba Sports Club and midfielder Deborah Fernandes have reached a mutual agreement to terminate his contract. We appreciate his contributions and wish him the best in his future endeavors,” read part of the statement from Simba.

He joined the club from Zambian side Mutondo Stars on a three-year contract. In a bid to restructure their squad, Simba have so far released several players, among them Fabrice Ngoma, Kelvin Kijili, Valentine Nouma, Augustine Okejepha, Hussein Kazi, and long-serving goalkeeper Aishi Manula.

Meanwhile, Simba are on the verge of losing their captain Mohamed Hussein after both sides failed to agree on terms to extend his stay.
