Simba SC purge continues as more players exit

Tanzania Premier League giants Simba SC have continued with their rebuilding process following the release of three more players ahead of the new season.

After confirming the exit of veteran goalkeeper Aishi Manula, Congolese midfielder Fabrice Ngoma, and 24-year-old Burkinabe leftback Valentin Nouma, Simba have released three more players.

They include Hussein Kazi, who has already been unveiled by Namungo FC, midfielder Augustine Okejepha from Nigeria and Kelvin Kijili.

Simba are in a rebuilding mood having finished last season without silverware with rivals Young Africans lifting a domestic double – the Premier League and Federation Cup title.

In a recent interview, the club’s Media Officer Ahmed Ally urged their supporters and fans to be calm following the disastrous campaign.

“This is not the time to point fingers at one person,” he said as quoted by Daily News. “We must all take responsibility—players, coaches, management and even us in leadership. It’s not about blaming one official or one player. If we want to bounce back stronger next season, we need to examine where we went wrong as a group.”

Ally added: “Our fans have every right to feel disappointed. But emotional decisions and scapegoating won’t take us back to the top. What we need is critical analysis and strategic planning. Let’s sit down, assess our performance thoroughly, and correct our mistakes.”
