Simba SC assistant coach Suleiman Matola has admitted they will face a tall order against Namungo FC in their Tanzanian Premier League fixture at KMC Stadium on Wednesday.
While the Msimbazi Reds won their opening fixture 3-0 against Fountain Gate, Namungo, who are being handled by former Simba coach Juma Mgunda, started off their season with a 1-0 win against Tanzania Prisons.
“It will not be an easy, it will not, remember the results every time we come up against Namungo, every time we play against them they give us a very difficult game, it is a team with a very good technical bench, and they always give us hard times,” Matola told Pan-Africa Football.
“For us, all we need from the fixture is three points, we have prepared well, we have done enough, all the players are fit and ready to go, we want to make it two wins out of two, and we will do everything to win the game despite the difficulties we always come up against them.”
He continued: “We are also facing our former coach (Mgunda) and that is why I insist it won’t be an easy game, he knows Simba, he understands Simba, and that is why I say it will be a difficult game, but we are prepared to beat them.”
On whether Kenya midfielder Mohammed Bajaber could make his debut for the club, Matola responded: “No, Bajaber is still out with injury, but all the players who played the first game are fit and good to go.”
On the congested fixtures he said: “Not a single coach will be happy to play after every two days, every coach would want to have time with his players for recovery, but that is what it is, we knew about the fixtures when they came out, and so it is good to prepare.”
He concluded: “We don’t need to cry now because we knew it was going to happen.”
