Former AFC Leopards head coach Patrick Aussems has been dismissed by Tanzanian club Singida Black Stars.
In a statement released by the club obtained by Pan-Africa Football, the Belgian was shown the exit door alongside his assistant Dennis Kitambi.
“We would like to inform the stakeholders and fans of our team that the Board of Directors of Singida Black Stars has decided to part ways with coach Patrick Aussems and Denis Kitambi, effective today, 25th November 2024,” read part of the statement.
“The decision comes as a result of unconvincing results in the last three consecutive matches despite all the efforts and support offered to the technical bench by the management.”
The club further confirmed the appointment of Technical Director Ramadhani Nsanzurwimo as interim head coach, with Muhibu Kanu appointed as his assistant, while they seek a permanent solution.
In 2018, Aussems became the head coach of Simba SC the 2017/18 champions of the Tanzanian Premier League. The Tanzanian giants were ambitious and wanted to become one of the top 5 club teams in Africa.
The Belgian coach was hired to bring his experience in continental competitions and targeted winning the Champions League. Aussems guided Simba to the Tanzanian Premier League title in 2018/19 and reached the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League, losing out to TP Mazembe 4-1 over two legs.
Aussems signed a new one year contract to continue as head coach for the 2019/20 season but in November 2019, Simba confirmed parting ways with the Belgian coach on mutual consent. He coached Kenyan club AFC Leopards in 2021.
