Seventeen-time Uganda Premier League champions SC Villa are on the verge of losing up to six players as their contracts near expiration.

According to Swift Sports Uganda, the list includes Uganda Cranes duo Ronald Ssekiganda and Patrick Jonah Kakande, whose contracts run out at the end of this month.

Both midfielders are expected to seek opportunities abroad after unsuccessful talks with the club regarding contract renewals. Goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige, Aslam Ssemakula, Tony Atukunda, and defender Arnold Odong are also likely to depart.

While Odong and Atukunda still have six months remaining on their current deals, Kibirige and Ssemakula will become free agents by the end of May. Ssemakula has been a bright spark in an otherwise underwhelming 2024/25 campaign for the Jogoos, scoring four goals and providing one assist from midfield.

SC Villa, coached by Morley Byekwaso, finished sixth in the Uganda Premier League standings with 45 points from 30 matches.
