Jean Sseninde appointed as CECAFA Interim Executive Director

Jean Sseninde has been appointed as the interim Executive Director of the Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA).

The development was brought to the public today, Wednesday, October 8, 2025, through a statement released by CECAFA.

‘CECAFA wishes to inform Member Associations and all stakeholders that Ms Jean Sseninde has been appointed by CAF as Interim Executive Director,” the statement partly reads.

Sseninde is a former Uganda Crested Cranes player

Sseninde’s appointment was welcomed by CECAFA’s acting President, Alexandre Muyenge promising to render her the possible support needed.

“We welcome Sseninde to this position and promise to give her all the necessary support as we work towards developing Football in the region,” Muyenge was quoted.

Sseninde is a former Crested Cranes player who has risen through the ranks of football administration.

In Uganda, she works as a general coordinator on matchdays. She also owns a regional team known as Red Ants.
