Stade Brest sign Ivorian defender Junior Diaz on loan

Junior Diaz has joined Stade Brest on loan from Troyes. The 21-year-old defender’s imminent move to French Ligue 1 has been confirmed by Brest.

The Ivorian will play for Brest in the 2025/26 season.

The imposing defender impressed while playing for Troyes last season in Ligue 2. Brest officially stated that Diaz is joining the side on loan but did not specify whether there is a clause in the contract that allows for a permanent move.

“Junior Diaz signed with Stade Brestois 29 this Sunday, July 13, and joined Éric Roy’s men in Dinard directly to sign his contract and take part in the pre-season training camp. He will wear the number 4,” stated the Breton-based outfit.

Born in France, Diaz came through the youth system at Nantes. He also played for Annecy before joining Troyes in 2024. Diaz represented Ivory Coast at the U23 level in 2023. He made 34 league appearances for Troyes last season.
