DR Congo’s cup champions AS Simba have selected the Stade TP Mazembe to host their continental matches in 2025/26. The club from Kolwezi, southern DR Congo, was in search of a venue to host their CAF Confederation Cup games.
According to FootRDC, Simba lacked a CAF-accredited stadium in the region and therefore inquired about the availability of Stade TP Mazembe. The Lubumbashi-based outfit granted access to the stadium, and Simba will be using it for the Confederation Cup.
Simba were founded in 2002 and played in the lower leagues for much of that time. The club surprisingly won the 2024/25 DR Congo Cup. Stade TP Mazembe was constructed in 2012 and renovated in 2019. It is owned by DR Congo football giants TP Mazembe, and CS Don Bosco has also used the stadium for their league and continental matches. It can hold up to 18,500 spectators.
