Stéphane Nado appointed new head coach of Djibouti men’s national team

Stéphane Nado has offcially been unveiled as the new coach of the Djibouti national men's team by the Football Federation of Djibouti (FDF).
During the unveiling ceremony held in Djibouti town on Wednesday, President of Djibouti Federation Souleiman Hassan Waberi unveiled Nado, who recently handled Morocco’s Renaissance Club Athletic Zemamra, and his assistant Anthony Rimasson and further thanked the outgoing coach Abdirahman Okie for his good services.
He welcomed the new coaches and made it clear that they have set long term and short term goals for the new coaches with the World Cup 2026 qualifiers in perspective. Nado, a French professional football coach and former defender, who played in Ligue 2 with Stade Briochin, started his coaching career at the age of 29 with the U17 at En Avant Guingamp.
In 2010, he joined Stade Brestois as academy director and assistant coach of the first team. Four years later, in 2014, he took charge of the U19 team at Olympique de Marseille. In 2018, he was appointed the academy director at Stade Malherbe Caen.
In 2021, Nado became the manager of Monaco B competing in Championnat National 2 and in January 2022, he briefly served as the interim manager of Monaco’s first team for a French Cup match against Quevilly Rouen Metropole, which Monaco won 3-1.
Nado has an international experience in Africa. From 2017 to 2018, he was the assistant to Corentin Martins with the Mauritania national team.
In November 2022, he joined the Moroccan Football Federation as head coach of the U20 and U23 women’s national teams. Under his leadership, Morocco participated in the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in India and qualified for the U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
In the March 11, 2025, he signed a contract as the manager of Renaissance Club Athletic Zemamra, in Morocco Botola first division before his latest move to handle Djibouti.
