Suleman Shaibu: TP Mazembe player undergoes successfully surgery

TP Mazembe goalkeeper Suleman Shaibu from Nigeria has undergone successful surgery in Senegal after suffering a health problem.

The Nigerian goalkeeper, who has recently been seen playing as a striker, is expected to return to the field in the coming months after continuing his treatment and training to return to his best form.

Mazembe fans have continued to wish him a speedy recovery so that he can return to help his team.

Shaibu to remain in Dakar after surgery

In a statement, Mazembe said: “Player Suleman Shaibu underwent surgery this Friday afternoon, April 3rd, at the Clinique du Cap in Dakar, following a right knee injury.

“He will remain in the Senegalese capital until the end of the month before returning to Lubumbashi.

“Rehabilitation for this type of injury typically takes several weeks, encompassing both healing and physical conditioning. However, current progress suggests the player will return as soon as possible.

“The club sends him its full support during this period and wishes him a speedy recovery, hoping to see him back on the field very soon.”

Mazembe were the first African and the first outside of Europe and South America to play in a Club World Cup final, losing 3-0 against Inter Milan in the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup edition, finishing runners-up.
