Sundowns announce Carling Black Label as Club World Cup sponsor

Mamelodi Sundowns, fresh off their Betway Premiership triumph, are set to conquer the global stage with a new, potent partnership.
The newly crowned South African champions have announced Carling Black Label Beer as their sponsor for the prestigious FIFA Club World Cup in the USA.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Sundowns said: "As the only club from Southern Africa to qualify for this newly expanded 32-team global tournament, Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club will carry the hopes of millions — backed by a beer brand that has long stood for football excellence and national pride.
"As the only Southern African club to qualify for the newly expanded 32-team FIFA Club World Cup taking place in the United States this June — Mamelodi Sundowns will carry the dreams of a continent."
Meanwhile, Sundowns Senior Coach, Steve Komphela, shared his thoughts on the partnership between the club and the beer brand.
“This partnership is a meeting of champions — grounded in aligned values, backed by performance, and driven by the people," said Komphela.
"Carling Black Label understands the heartbeat of South African football. They’ve stood by fans and supporters for decades, and now they’re standing with Mamelodi Sundowns as we take African excellence to the world. We are proud to have an award-winning brand backing us on this journey.”
Following their crucial CAF Champions League final second leg against Pyramids in Cairo this coming Sunday, Sundowns will quickly shift their focus to the FIFA Club World Cup in the USA.
The Tshwane giants face a formidable challenge in Group F, where they'll go head-to-head with Bundesliga powerhouse Borussia Dortmund, Brazilian stalwarts Fluminense FC, and Korean outfit Ulsan HD.
Their Club World Cup journey begins on Tuesday, June 17, against Ulsan. Four days later, on Saturday, June 21, they'll take on Dortmund, before concluding their group stage fixtures with a demanding match against Fluminense on Wednesday, June 25.
