Super Eagles set to face Poland and Portugal in high-profile friendlies

The Super Eagles have confirmed they will engage in two high-profile international friendlies against Poland and Portugal this winter.

The announcement was made on Thursday via the team’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, while the squad is currently competing in the Antalya Four-Nation Invitational in Turkey.

Nigeria are scheduled to take on Poland on June 3rd, before locking horns with World Cup-bound Portugal on June 10th.

Super Eagles Rebuilding for AFCON 2027

Eric Chelle’s side, which narrowly missed out on qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, has now shifted its focus toward the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The coaching staff aims to utilise these fixtures as vital building blocks for the three-time African champions.

Currently, Nigeria remain unbeaten during their stay in Turkey. They secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Iran before playing to a 2-2 draw with Jordan on Tuesday.
