Super Falcons: Emem Essien ready for Cameroon friendly

Nigeria women's national team debutant Emem Essien has expressed her readiness ahead of the Super Falcons' clash with the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in Ikenne, Ogun State on Saturday.


Essien who plays for Edo Queens confirmed her readiness to make her debut for Nigeria while speaking with Pan-Africa Football ahead of the highly anticipated friendly. The 23 year old affirmed her readiness as well as that of her teammates.


"I'm very much for this for tomorrow's game, and the team we are fully ready for tomorrows game. We will give out our best and do what we are here to do."


The forward also confirmed that she is looking to deliver a masterclass showing as she has long awaited the opportunity to dawn the green, white and green jersey of the Super Falcons.


"You should be expecting the best of me tomorrow. I'm excited, I've actually been waiting for this opportunity. And I'm really happy to be among the Super Falcons players."



Essien got her first call up to the Super Falcons after helping Edo Queens finish third in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) as she provided seven goals in the competition.
