Super Falcons forward Rinsola Babajide announce UDG Tenerife exit

Super Falcons forward Rinsola Babajide has announced her departure from Spanish Women’s top flight side, UDG Tenerife (also known as Costa Adeje Tenerife).


The former Liverpool player announced the end of two season’s stint with the team.

Babajide who represented England at youth level before switching allegiance to Nigeria thanked fans, teammates, and coaching staff officially announced by the club on their social media platforms


“My time at Costa Adeje Tenerife has come to an end. I want to start off by thanking the fans for their incredible support during my 2 years at the club. I want to thank my team mates & the whole technical staff and the extended members of staff for everything,” she wrote.


She also expressed her joy in what she had accomplished for the club in 2 years. Wishing the club all the best in the seasons ahead.


“Special shoutouts to Samuel Fariña & Adrián Fumero for their unwavering support and belief in me from the start until the very end, it was a huge pleasure working alongside you both. I’m proud of what we did as a team with the cards we were dealt with.


"I’m proud of these particular 2 years that has shaped me to not only become a better player but a stronger person, I’ve had so many obstacles thrown at me in which i rose to the challenge that helped me to become wiser and more observant."


“I wish the club all the luck & success in the world. Really looking forward to what God has planned next for me.”


Babajide made 56 league appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing 12 assists. The former Watford, Brighton, and Betis player is yet to confirm her next destination.


She joined compatriot, Gift Monday in departing Costa Adeje Tenerife. Monday left for National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side, Washington Spirit.
