Nigeria’s Women’s National Team, Super Falcons, will take on the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in a friendly match ahead of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The game will serve as part of the Super Falcons’ preparation with hopes of fine-tuning their strategies and solidifying team cohesion ahead of the continental tournament.
Justine Madugu’s side last played a game when they tackled France in a friendly last December, a closely fought contest that ended in a narrow 2-1 loss for Nigeria to Les Bleues.
The nine-time WAFCON champions are expected to play more friendlies before the start of the biennial competition.
Super Falcons are drawn in Group B at WAFCON, where they will face off against Botswana, Tunisia, and Algeria, as they aim to extend their grip on women’s football in Africa.
The competition will run from Saturday, 5 July to Saturday, 26 July 2025 in Morocco.
