SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt has slammed his players for committing ‘poor errors’ during the 3-0 loss to Sekhukhune United on Sunday in a Betway Premiership match in South Africa.
Striker Any Boyeli scored a hat-trick to condemn the hosts, who were reduced to 10 men after Tashreeq Morris’s dismissal, to a fifth league loss in 13 games.
In a post-match interview with SuperSport Television, Hunt said the result did not reflect his team's overall performance.
“I am very disappointed because we had dominance in the first half but we didn't get a break and didn’t score. Then we made two big errors for the first two goals…those were really poor errors,” he said.
The former Kaizer Chiefs mentor felt his side deserved at least a point from the game but it was not to be.
“…the result doesn't look good but if you look at the performance, you watch it and see it, sometimes you can’t control results…two errors that we made leading to the first two goals were poor. You can’t make errors like that, so I am disappointed,” he added.
His Sekhukhune counterpart Lehlohono Seema attributed the win to a good gameplan and his players’ ability to stick to it.
He said: “It was not an easy game tactically but the guys fought.”
The back-to-back win for Sekhukhune pushed them into third place, seven points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns who were not involved in domestic league action over the weekend due to CAF Champions League assignments.
