Taddeo Lwanga bids emotional farewell to APR FC after two successful seasons

Ugandan midfielder Taddeo Lwanga has officially parted ways with Rwandan giants APR FC, bringing an end to his two-year stint at the club.

He confirmed his departure through an emotional statement on his social media platforms, expressing gratitude to everyone who supported him throughout his journey in Rwanda.

“As my time at APR FC comes to an end, my heart is full,” Lwanga wrote. “I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the club management, backroom staff, my teammates, and my family, who have supported me throughout my two-year journey with the club. It has truly been an absolute pleasure to be part of this team.”

In a touching note to the supporters, Lwanga added, “Writing this isn’t easy, but as footballers, we all understand that this day eventually comes. To the incredible fans – Murakoze cyane – I am deeply grateful for your unwavering support during my time at APR FC. I wish the club nothing but success in the future, and I’ll be announcing my next move in due course. Much love, Taddeo Lwanga (The Engineer).”

Lwanga’s exit comes after the two parties failed to agree on terms for a contract renewal.

His time at APR FC was marked by notable success, including two Rwanda Premier League titles. Known for his commanding presence in midfield and leadership on the pitch, Lwanga leaves behind a legacy of consistency and dedication.

Speculation now surrounds his next move, with reports suggesting he may consider returning to a local club to boost his chances of making Uganda’s squad for the 2025 CHAN tournament, which is exclusive to players based in domestic leagues.

Before his spell in Rwanda, Lwanga featured for several top clubs across Africa, including SC Villa, Express FC, Vipers SC (Uganda), Tanta SC (Egypt), and Simba SC (Tanzania).
