Nigeria international Nathan Tella was among the goals as Bayer Leverkusen registered an emphatic 4-1 Bundesliga victory against Eintracht Frankfurt at Deutsche Bank Park on Saturday.

It was the Super Eagle, who set the ball rolling in the five goal thriller, putting the visiting side ahead in the 26th minute after finishing off a great pass from former Arsenal player Granit Xhaka.

Nordi Mukiele doubled Leverkusen’s lead in the 29th minute before Patrik Schick made it 3-0 in the 33rd minute following a great pass from Alejandro Grimaldo. With Bayer cruising to a comfortable 3-0 half-time lead, Frankfurt reduced the deficit courtesy of Hugo Ekitike in the 37th minute. Leverkusen led 3-1 at the half-time break.

Alex Garcia sealed the important win for Leverkusen in the 62nd minute. The win saw Leverkusen remain second on the table, eight points behind leaders Bayern Munich.

Tella, who was substituted in the 77th minute for fellow Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface, has managed 19 Bundesliga appearances this season, scored two goals and provided two assists.
