Midfielder Ibrahim Tembo has officially parted ways with Uganda Premier League side NEC FC, ending a two-year stint at the club.
The defensive midfielder took to his social media platforms on Monday morning to confirm his departure, expressing gratitude for his time with the team.
“I thank Allah for the gift of life and thank the NEC FC management, players, and the technical staff under coach Mbalangu for the opportunity of working with you people. My two-year journey at the club has come to an end, it wasn’t easy but Allah has been on our side. Wishing the team all the best,” Tembo posted.
Tembo joined NEC FC at the start of the 2023/24 season on a two-year contract and was an instrumental figure in midfield. He played a vital role in helping the side achieve a historic campaign, finishing as runners-up in both the Uganda Premier League and the 2024 Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Before joining NEC FC, Tembo featured for several top-tier Ugandan clubs, including Vipers SC, UPDF FC, Arua Hill, and Mbarara City.
Meanwhile, NEC FC could be bracing for more departures. Midfielder Enock Ssebaggala is also out of contract, with double champions Vipers SC reportedly interested in securing his services.
