Tense conference... RS Berkane coach Moïne Chaâbani denounces the reception in Zanzibar

RS Berkane head coach Mouin Chaabani

On the eve of the CAF Confederation Cup final, Tunisian coach Moïne Chaâbani didn't mince his words. At a press conference this Saturday in Zanzibar, where his team RS Berkane will face Simba SC, he strongly criticized the reception conditions his delegation received upon their arrival on the island.

"The only real problem we encountered was the reception. It was a bit long, disorganized... I'm not someone who likes to complain, but I had to say it," he declared, visibly annoyed. This setback, he said, in no way affected his players' concentration and motivation.

Despite the sweltering heat and the unusual circumstances, Chaâbani assures us that the squad is ready: "We've prepared the team on every level: physically, technically, and mentally. No matter the conditions, we are professionals."

He knows the pressure will be high at Amaan Stadium, where thousands of local fans are expected. But the coach remains confident: "Our players are now used to this type of atmosphere. And I want to salute our supporters; some have traveled from Berkane to be with us here in Zanzibar."

The tone is set: "We came for these 90 minutes with the desire to play a great match. Bringing the cup back to Morocco would be the greatest reward for our fans."

Kick-off tomorrow at 2 p.m. Moroccan time. The dream of a third continental title is more within reach than ever for Renaissance Sportive de Berkane.
