Having arrived in Casablanca around 8 p.m. yesterday evening, the Mali national team immediately traveled to the Wydad Athletic Club training complex for their first preparation session in the Moroccan city. Head coach Tom Saintfiet and his side will face Group I foes Central African Republic on Monday in Casablanca.
In Matchday 5 of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Mali won convincingly (3-0) against the Comoros. Nene Dorgeles opened the scoring in the 21st minute before Kamory Doumbia scored twice (55th and 63rd).
Thanks to this away win, the Eagles now have 8 points, just two points behind leaders Madagascar (10 points). They are also keeping a close eye on the upcoming duel between Ghana (12 points) and Madagascar, which will also take place later on Monday evening (7 p.m. GMT) in Al Hoceima.
For Matchday 6, Mali will face the Central African Republic on Monday at the Laarbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca, starting at 4 p.m. (GMT). The Eagles hope to build on their strong momentum and continue their march toward qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
