The signing from Wydad pounced on a loose ball in the penalty area to fire in the only goal of the match in the 82nd minute and give his new club a victory over fellow Libyan Premier League side Shomooa.
Aziz Ki, also signed from Wydad, was involved as well. Both players came off the bench in the second half after a mostly uneventful opening 45 minutes.
Ittihad are eager to compete for top honors in the Libyan Premier League and achieve success in continental competition. A wave of foreign imports arrived during the recent transfer window with Cameroonian striker Anatole Abang and former Espérance Tunis midfielder Roger Aholou among the new arrivals along with Togolese countryman Yawo Agbagno.
These additions joined an already high-priced and growing foreign contingent that includes another former Wydad attacker, Mauritanian international Sidi Bouna Amar, and former Raja Casablanca playmaker Naoufel Zerhouni.
Since being eliminated in the qualifying stages of CAF Confederation Cup qualifying by Egyptian club Al Masry, the club from the Libyan capital remain undefeated. They have seven wins and one draw in Libyan Premier League play so far this season, including a victory against Shomooa, and are six points clear at the top of their group.
