Botola Pro and CAF Confederation Cup champions RS Berkane continued their quest for another trophy on Sunday with a 3-0 victory over Kawkab Marrakech in their Round of 16 duel from Morocco's Throne Cup.
Despite passionate home support in favor of second division hosts Kawkab Marrakech, RSB had little trouble with the current Botola 2 leaders. Youssef Mehri scored twice inside 22 minutes to send the Orange Boys well on their way to victory and a place in the quarterfinals.
Captain Issoufou Dayo added one more goal in the second half. Berkane will now face Rabat club AS FAR in the quarterfinals for a clash that could very well determine the winner of Morocco's cup competition.
The likes of Casablanca giants Wydad AC and Raja CA were eliminated in the Round of 16, leaving RS Berkane and AS FAR as the favorites to win the competition. The quarterfinals will take place in June with the dates yet to be determined.
