TNM Super League: Bullets move seven points clear

Striker Hassan Kajoke’s double saw pacesetters FCB Big Bullets opening a seven-point gap at the TNM Super League summit on Tuesday. Elsewhere, Silver Strikers kept their title retention hopes alive with a hard-fought victory.

The record champions Bullets cruised past MAFCO FC 3-0 at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre for their fifth consecutive league win while the holders Strikers were 2-1 winners over Creck Sporting Club in Lilongwe to maintain their fourth place in the standings.

Who scored for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets?

Kajoke scored in 37th minute and added time in the first half before Nigerian-born striker Babatunde Adepoju sealed the victory for Bullets at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

The attention for Bullets is now on the Blantyre derby as they host sworn rivals Mighty Wanderers at the same Blantyre arena on Sunday.

Some 400 kilometres away in the capital, Lilongwe, Silver switched from their CAF Champions League victory over Yanga SC over the weekend to take care of domestic business.

The Bankers overcame stubborn Lilongwe rivals Creck Sporting Club 2-1 with Emmanuel Allan and Uchizi Vunga finding the target in either half in between Patrick Mupanzi’s strike for the visiting team.

Strikers are 13 points behind the league leaders who have played two games more than the Lilongwe giants. Peter Mgangira’s team will now fly to Tanzania for a CAF Champions League second preliminary round meeting with Yanga SC at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium this weekend.
