The Togo Football Federation (FTF) is concerned about the lack of qualified CAF A license coaches in the country.

According to the continent’s football governing body regulations, a national team or club participating in a tournament sanctioned by CAF must be led by a coach with a valid A license.

Togo Foot cited an ordinary general assembly of the FTF, where the federation raised this concern. The National Technical Director’s (NTD) report indicated that Togo lacks a sufficient number of qualified A license holders.

This situation leaves the country without enough licensed coaches to supervise clubs involved in inter-club competitions.

The NTD added that the two clubs representing the country in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup currently lack coaches with the required license. The lack of coaching training in the country has further worsened the situation.

League champions ASCK and Confederation Cup participants Gbohloesu need to hire coaches who hold a CAF A license. ASCK officially announced last week that they do not wish to participate in the CAF Champions League due to high operating costs.
