Torino are close to completing the signing of Moroccan attacker Zakaria Aboukhlal in a deal worth 10 million euros from French Ligue 1 side Toulouse.

Aboukhlal will be ending a three-year stay at Le TéFéCé, which began in 2022.

According to French daily L’Équipe, Aboukhlal sought a fresh start in a new league and country, as his contract with Toulouse is set to expire in June 2026.

With a year left on his contract, the French side failed to keep one of their most reliable attackers. Torino has been working to bring in a new winger during the transfer window, and the Atlas Lion was their target.

Negotiations between the two parties have been ongoing and are said to be in a very good place. Few details are left to finalise, but Aboukhlal’s switch to the Italian Serie A is now imminent.

Aboukhlal, 25, joined Toulouse from Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar in 2022. He scored 20 league goals during his stay and won the Coupe de France in 2023. He was also instrumental when Morocco became the first African country to reach a World Cup semifinal in 2022.
