Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for Leicester City’s Moroccan midfielder Bilal El Khannouss as they look to reinforce their squad this season, according to The Times.

Spurs have been hit by injuries to key players, with James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski both sidelined. Maddison suffered a major blow during pre-season preparations, tearing his ACL.

The Times reports that Tottenham have turned their attention to El Khannouss after missing out on Morgan Gibbs-White, who signed a new deal with Nottingham Forest. The club are also aiming to pair him in attack with Ghanaian international Mohammed Kudus, who recently joined from West Ham United.

El Khannouss, 21, is under contract until 2028 and could reportedly cost Spurs around £25 million if they decide to make an official move.

Last season, the Moroccan international featured in 36 matches across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing five assists. He also played in Leicester’s Championship opener against Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.

Notably, no player created more chances, created more big chances or provided more assists than Bilal El Khannouss in the Championship this weekend, according to Squawka.
