Tottenham Hotspur’s forward Richarlson has suggested that his team mate Mohammed Kudus has all the attributes of a Brazilian footballer.
The Brazilian forward commented on the Ghanaian after his inspired displays for Spurs as they dispatched returning Premier League opponents Burnley FC 3-0 on Saturday.
Kudus created two goals for Richarlson, including an absolute goal-of-season contender. Brennan Johnson scored Spurs’ other goal.
Such a creative display, spiced up by tricks and dribbles, left the Brazilian international in awe. Brazilian players are renowned for their flair play.
Little wonder, in a post-match interview with Sky Sports Television, Richarlson said Kudus plays like a typical Brazilian.
“I feel this guy is Brazilian,” he said. “I love dribbling and I love skill. I am so happy for this guy. In the next game, he needs to score because he is working too hard for the team.”
In a response, Kudus received the compliments with grace, saying it was his responsibility to provide assists for strikers.
“As a winger, one of my responsibilities is to serve strikers and put them in a position where it is easier for them to score. It was a brilliant finish [Richarlson’s bicycle kick goal]. I don’t think it was a perfect cross but he made it look so good,” he said.
Kudus signed for Spurs in the pre-season after a thoroughly impressive spell at West Ham United.
