Head of Sporting Affairs at Asante Kotoko SC, James Kwasi Appiah is looking forward to an entertaining game against Kaizer Chiefs in the 2025 Toyota Cup.
The record Ghana Premier League holders Kotoko will be at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Johannesburg on July 28 as guests of AmaKhosi for the Toyota Cup – a pre-season exercise that will go a long way to strengthen their squad for next season’s domestic and continental campaign.
Ahead of the competition, a delegation from Kaizer Chiefs led by Kabelo Bosilogo with legends like Stanton Fredericks & Siyabonga Nomvethe paid a special visit to Asante Kotoko life patron, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at Manhyia Palace to strike partnership between the clubs.
Highlighting the importance of the partnership between the two African giant clubs, Kwasi Appiah shared his aspirations for a long term union.
“I believe my players here are not going to let me down; it’s-the Toyota Cup game- going to be very entertaining. I hope that we continue this relationship because it shouldn’t be a one year thing.” Kwasi Appiah said.
Asante Kotoko will play in next season’s CAF Confederations Cup after lifting their 10th FA Cup title last with a 2-1 win over Division One club, Golden Kicks SC at the Legon Stadium. Kotoko finished third in last season’s Ghana Premier League.
