The DR Congo‘s TP Mazembe FC have moved in to secure the future of Malawian forward Lanjesi Nkhoma, a week after tying down his compatriot.
In a statement, the Linafoot giants confirm the extension of the contract of the former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets FC attacker by two years. Last week, the Lubumbashi-based side renewed the contract of Nkhoma’s countryman Patrick Mwaungulu.
“Lanjesi, the only scorer for the Crows against Lubumbashi Sport on Saturday, December 27, feels very comfortable in Lubumbashi alongside his compatriot Mwaungulu.
Present on the attacking front, he brings his mobility, his ability to attack the depth and his work without the ball.
“This extension reflects the club’s desire to stabilise its attacking sector and to continue the development of a player who is fully committed to the club’s sporting project.”
The 24-year-olds joined the Linafoot Ligue 1 giants in August 2024 from Bullets on a one-year contract..
The duo, however, could not join Mazembe’s squad straightaway due to then transfer restrictions which FIFA placed on the former CAF Champions League winners.
Therefore, the two players ended up spending time at fellow Congolese top flight club CS Don Bosco until the ban was lifted. The Malawians returned to the parent club in May 2025, where they have excelled.
