Tunisia national team coach Sami Trabelsi was pleased with the performance of his team in their 2-0 win over Burkina Faso to kick off the FIFA window in June. An own goal from Edmond Tapsoba and a strike by Hazem Mastouri handed the Carthage Eagles a victory at home.

After the match, Trabelsi said the win would bring confidence to his side. "This victory against Burkina Faso allows us to approach the next stage with serenity. It also marks the end of a black streak against a technical and physical opponent. We are making progress in our ball control, despite the integration of seven new players who have shown great ability.”

Trabelsi further noted that he now has an idea of his starting eleven. “This also strengthens the competitiveness within the squad. The players called up have shown great discipline. I already have my ideal eleven in mind, but we must anticipate all scenarios, especially injuries."

Trabelsi still insists their aim is to win the FIFA Arab Cup and perform well in the 2025 African Cup of Nations. The same sentiment was voiced by the former Tunisian center back when the national side kicked off their preparations for three friendlies in June. "Major challenges await Tunisia: we are aiming for the Arab Cup title in Qatar, while also preparing for the 2025 African Cup of Nations in Morocco. Before that, the World Cup qualifiers."

Tunisia’s next opponent is 2025 AFCON hosts Morocco in Fez on Friday.
