Trabzonspor targets Jérémie Boga in player swap deal

2023 Africa Cup of Nations-winning winger Jérémie Boga is being targeted by Turkish club Trabzonspor. The OGC Nice player had a difficult 2024/25 season at the Allianz Riviera.

L’Équipe reports that Trabzonspor is proposing a direct player exchange with the French Ligue 1 side to acquire Boga. The Süper Lig club has offered Batista Mendy in exchange for the Ivorian international. Nice is considering the move, as manager Franck Haise does not see Boga as part of his plans. The 28-year-old winger also earns a high salary at Nice.

According to the French sports daily, this could prompt the club to accept Trabzonspor’s offer. Boga, however, has not yet given the green light for a potential move to Turkey.

Boga joined Nice from Serie A side Sassuolo for €18 million and enjoyed a remarkable debut season. However, injuries and poor form hampered his second year at the club.

A product of Chelsea’s academy, Boga has been representing the Ivory Coast national team since 2017. He is well known for his exceptional dribbling skills. Boga managed to bag nine goals and seven assists during his two-year stint at Nice so far.
