Tranmere Rovers complete move for Liberia midfielder Nohan Kenneh

Towering defensive midfielder Nohan Kenneh will continue his club career in England after the Liberia national team player completed a move to EFL League Two side Tranmere Rovers from Scottish Premiership club Hibernian.

The 22-year-old signed on for two seasons at Tranmere after joining the club on a free transfer from Edinburgh side Hibs. Kenneh returns to England after spending the last two-and-a-half seasons on loan, most recently with Scottish side Ross Country where he featured regularly as the club were relegated to the second tier Championship.

Born in the Grand Gedeh Country city of Zwedru, Kenneh moved to England at a young age and developed into a professional at Leeds United. The former England under-18 international joined Hibernian ahead of the 2022-23 season, making 19 appearances in all competitions before moving on loan to Ross Country for the second half of the season.

Kenneh spent the entire 2023-24 season on loan at English League One side Shrewsbury Town before returning to Ross County this past season where he made 18 appearances with 2 assists in league and cup action.

The central defensive player, who can also operate in the backline, elected to represent his birth country in March 2023 and has made 15 appearances for the Lone Stars in qualifying campaigns for the 2023 and 2025 editions of the Africa Cup of Nations as well as Liberia’s ongoing attempt to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
