It appears inevitable that popular Tanzanian midfielder Feisal Salum will be moving to a bigger club next season. One of the biggest stars in sub-Saharan African club football, circumstances are pointing to a new destination for the 27-year-old.

The Tanzania national team star and Azam FC player has not been quite as prolific as last season (19 goals, 7 assists) but continues to be perhaps the best domestic talent in Tanzania's NBC Premier League. The player popularly known as "Toto" has four goals and twelve assists this season for Azam who continue to fight for third position and a place in the 2025-26 CAF Confederation Cup.

But with only one year left on his contract after the ongoing season, now appears to be the best time for Azam to cash in on their star player. As anticipated, top Tanzanian clubs Simba SC and Young Africans are keen on adding another top domestic player to their ranks but Salum also has a notable admirer in South Africa.

According to FARPost, former Young Africans coach and current Kaizer Chiefs gaffer Nasreddine Nabi is eager to bolster the AmaKhosi midfield with Salum. FARPost reports that previous inquiries into Salum's asking price, R40 million (over $2 million), scared off Chiefs but with a CAF Confederation Cup campaign coming next season the Soweto club may continue their pursuit.

Young Africans' cause may be helped by the fact that Salum previously spent five seasons at the club. There are no shortage of suitors but even though Azam stated they have no plans to sell, if their demands are met it will be difficult to resist an influx of money from a potential deal.
