TS Galaxy coach Adnan Beganovic launched a scathing attack on the Seshego Stadium after his side succumbed to a 2-1 defeat against Magesi FC on Saturday night.
The loss, which marked Galaxy’s fourth of the season, saw them drop points after taking an early lead through forward Seluleko Mahlambi, only to concede twice late in the match.
But according to Beganovic, the venue itself presented an insurmountable challenge. The coach labelled the ground “too small” and explicitly said it was “not good for PSL” standards.
In his post-match comments, Beganovic elaborated on the impact of the pitch. “It’s so difficult to play on this small pitch, especially to defend long balls and set pieces,” he told reporters.
He argued that the conditions actively prevented his team from implementing their strategy. “When we tried to have possession and the ball, we didn’t have the space because it’s so tight and small. Also, the pitch didn’t allow that.”
Despite the disappointment, Beganovic has moved quickly to refocus his team.
“It’s difficult and sad how we lost the point because already we had one point in our pocket,” he said. “But it’s already past… We can’t complain… We need to turn these things around and prepare our team for the next game against Arrows.”
The question remains whether Beganovic’s comments will prompt a review of the Betway Premiership venue compliance.
