TS Galaxy is showing serious intent for the 2025/26 campaign, officially announcing the acquisition of Nigerian goalkeeper Kayode Bankole.
The signing, confirmed by the Mpumalanga club on Friday, further swells the Rockets’ ranks as they pursue a top-half finish in the Betway Premiership.
Bankole joins the club on a free transfer, having been unattached since leaving his previous club, Remo Stars FC in Nigeria, back in August 2025. Despite his short time as a free agent, the 23-year-old shot-stopper arrives ready to compete immediately for the number one jersey against current keepers Ira Tapé and former Kaizer Chiefs Diski Challenge captain Nkosingabele Madela.
Bankole’s arrival is a clear signal of TS Galaxy’s ambitious strategy for the current season, as he becomes the 16th signing brought in by the club and coach Adnan Beganovic.
The flurry of new talent is unprecedented for the Rockets this season. Bankole joins a long list of fresh faces, including notable names like Onke Moletshe, Siyabonga Nguessan, Sedwyn George, and Veluyeke Zulu, among others. This significant roster overhaul suggests the club is determined to lift its performance and finish higher than in previous seasons.
