In the aftermath of their Tunis derby defeat, Club Africain head coach David Bettoni reflected on his team's 3-1 home defeat to rivals Espérance in Round 27 of the Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1.

The French coach spoke about a key moment of the match, expressed sadness and indicated that they will not give up on anything.

Speaking to the club’s media center after the match, head coach Bettoni said:

"It’s the derby – many things happened. A lot of situations went against us but it had nothing to do with the referee. Things got complicated after the red card."

"The reason for the disappointment was conceding a goal while we were 9 players against 11. We didn’t have time to make the substitutions and the ball didn’t go out of play. When we finally got possession, we didn’t kick it out and kept playing."

"We are sad for our fans and for ourselves. We wanted to win. Our objectives remain the same from the beginning – qualifying for either the CAF Confederation Cup or the CAF Champions League. That’s the goal that was set for me."

Zinedine Zidane's former assistant at Real Madrid also commented:

"After the points we lost and today’s defeat, the dream has become difficult – but we must not give up. The season is still ongoing and we need to keep going with a positive mindset. We still have nine points to play for in the league and four matches in the cup. My mission is to keep the team calm."

"No one can question the effort we give for our club. As long as there are points and matches left, we won’t give up on anything – that’s for sure. We’ve proven throughout the season that we get back up after every hit, and we’ll do it again."
