A radio report have revealed the nature of the injury sustained by Tunisia international midfielder Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane during the recent clash against Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Ben Romdhane, who plays for Al Ahly of Egypt, picked up the injury following a challenge from a Nigerian player during the match.
According to Mosaïque FM, the Tunisian midfielder underwent medical examinations, which confirmed that he is suffering from a knee contusion, with no ligament damage.
The Tunisian radio station’s correspondent stated that Ben Romdhane will require three to four days of rest in order to make a full recovery from the knock. The technical staff, led by Sami Trabelsi, reportedly expressed great relief after the test results, having initially feared a possible ligament injury.
