Historic Wall: Tunisia complete World Cup qualifiers without conceding a single goal

Tunisia capped off an extraordinary World Cup qualifying campaign with a flawless defensive record, securing their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup without conceding a single goal across all ten matches.

The Carthage Eagles sealed their qualification in style on Monday, defeating Namibia 3–0 in their final Group H fixture of the African qualifiers. The result confirmed Tunisia’s dominance, as they finished top of the group ahead of Namibia, Liberia, Malawi, Equatorial Guinea, and São Tomé and Príncipe.

Over the course of the qualifiers, Tunisia’s defense stood as an impenetrable wall — 900 minutes without conceding. It’s a remarkable achievement that no other team in Africa has matched so far in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, with only Ivory Coast still capable of equaling the record if they keep a clean sheet in their final match against Kenya.

Offensively, Tunisia were just as impressive, scoring 22 goals in 10 games, averaging 2.2 goals per match. Their consistent performances saw them collect 28 points out of a possible 30, with their only stumble being a goalless draw against Namibia earlier in the campaign.

This qualification marks Tunisia’s seventh appearance at the FIFA World Cup, following their previous participations in 1978, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2018, and 2022.
