Turkey giants Besiktas officially announce the signing of Wilfred Ndidi

Turkey Super Lig side, Besiktas have officially unveiled Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi confirming their formal negotiations with Leicester City over a potential move for the Super Eagles star.

Ndidi, 27, has been a mainstay at Leicester City since joining from Genk in 2017 and played a key role in the Foxes’ Premier League campaign last season.

With one year left on his contract, his future at the King Power Stadium has remained uncertain, attracting interest from multiple clubs across Europe. However the Turkish powerhouse snatched the Super Eagle ahead of next season’s campaign – signing a three year deal with option to extend for another year..

A statement from the club’s social media handle read:

“Beşiktaş Futbol A.Ş. has notified the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) that an agreement has been reached for the transfer of professional football player Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi.

“An agreement has been reached with the club and the professional football player Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi regarding his transfer. Ndidi has signed a 3+1 year contract.”

Ndidi’s capture is meant to bolster Besiktas midfield ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. The club have already made several additions in the current transfer window and view the Super Eagles midfielder as a vital piece in their squad rebuild.

As part of the transfer process, Ndidi underwent a comprehensive medical assessment in Istanbul earlier on Thursday.
