Trabzonspor dug deep to beat leaders, Galatasaray 2-1 during their week 28 Turkish Super Lig fixture on Saturday.
Nigerian duo, Paul Onuachu and Godfrey Nwaiwu scored a goal each to propel Trabzonspor to a very important victory that moved them to 63 points, just one point behind Galatasaray who have a game in hand.
Onuachu headed in the opener with just three minutes of action at the Papara Park before Ivory Coast defender, Wilfried Singo pulled level for the visitors three minutes into the second half.
Centre-back Godfrey Nwaiwu rose to the occasion to score the winner two minutes into the hour mark.
Cameroon goalkeeper, André Onana kept Galatasary at bay and he shared his thoughts on the title race.

“The title race? The only thing I know is that we won today.
“It was very important for us and I’m very happy with this victory.”
Trabzonspor manager, Okan Buruk had positive words to share about André Onana after the encounter.
“We created chances, but in the last minutes, the game was very ineffective.
“Andre Onana managed the time well, as he often does. He broke the match’s rhythm, and the yellow card came late. There was very little added time.
“And the match ended without the added time being played.”
André Onana has been in fine form for Trabzonspor since joining them on loan from English Premier League giants Manchester United last year.
The former Ajax and Inter Milan shot stopper has made 24 appearances, conceding 29 goals and keeping six clean sheets this campaign.
He has however been overlooked by national team selectors despite his blistering form at club level.
