Galatasaray maintained a five-point gap between themselves and rivals Fenerbahçe on Sunday with Nigerian superstar Victor Osimhen scoring in a 5-1 thrashing of hosts Eyüpspor.
The Super Eagle did brilliantly to control a hard cross and bundle in after his initial shot was blocked in the 71st minute, giving Galatasaray a 3-0 lead. Osimhen assisted the opening goal from Roland Sallai just before the half hour mark as the reigning Turkish champions dominated away from home.
Osimhen continues to lead the scoring charts with 22 goals to go along with 5 assists in 26 league matches.
Earlier on Sunday, DR Congo national team striker Simon Banza also continued his strong form by scoring in a 4-3 victory for Trabzonspor over Alanyaspor. A goal fest of a first half saw Banza finish off the scoring when he crashed in to head home following a free kick.
Hosts Trabzonspor held off a second half charge from the visitors to secure their fourth consecutive victory in all competitions. Banza previously helped his club to qualify for the final of the Turkish Cup on Thursday, where he will duel with Osimhen's Galatasaray on May 14. In the league, Trabzonspor are now in 7th place seven points out of the picture for continental football next season.
With goals in his last two league matches, Banza is now third on the league scoring chart with 19 goals and 4 assists in 27 matches for the poacher on loan from Portuguese club Braga.
