Tusker FC conclude pre-season camp in Kisumu with Homeboyz win

Kenyan Premier League side Tusker FC wrapped up the week-long pre-season training camp in Kisumu on a high note, securing a 2-0 win against fellow FKF Premier League side Kakamega Homeboyz at Bukhungu Stadium on Saturday.

Goals from Eric Kapaito and Cliff Oruko either side of halftime ensured the Brewers carried valuable momentum back to the capital, just a week before the 2025/26 campaign kicks off.

Kapaito, continuing his fine pre-season form with his fifth goal in friendly matches, opened the scoring 12 minutes before halftime. The striker latched onto a short pass from Issa Lumumba, spun sharply inside the box, and curled a brilliant left-footed effort into the net.

Tusker return to Capital

Earlier, he had gone close with a rasping low drive that brushed the side-netting after breaking free on the right flank. Issa Lumumba also threatened with a volley from the edge of the box that narrowly missed the target.

The Brewers will return to the capital having drawn valuable lessons from the Kisumu camp, both from the friendly matches and from the team-building activities off the field.

The Brewers, who finished fourth last season, will begin their quest for the FKF Premier League title against KCB at Nyayo Stadium on Friday.
