Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League club Tusker FC have completed the signing of goalkeeper Brandon Obiero from FC Talanta on a one-year contract, adding depth and competition to their goalkeeping department ahead of the new season.
Obiero, who has impressed with his consistency at Talanta, joins the Brewers as the club looks to bolster its squad for the new season of the FKF Premier League. The 29-year-old will compete for a starting berth in a packed goalkeeping department at Tusker.
Speaking after putting pen to paper, Obiero expressed his excitement at joining one of the most successful clubs in Kenyan football. “I am really delighted to join Tusker FC. This is a huge step in my career and I am ready to give my best to help the team achieve its goals this season.
“Of course there are very good and experienced goalkeepers here and I am ready to compete to get a starting role. It will not be easy but that is the beauty of football,” he said.
The Brewers coach Charles Okere welcomed the new signing, noting that Obiero’s arrival strengthens the squad’s depth in a key position. “Brandon is a good goalkeeper with great potential and we are happy to have him on board.
“He has shown good quality at Talanta and we believe he will grow even further with us. Competition for places is important in a team like Tusker and his addition gives us more options,” said the tactician.
